Xbox 360 Bundles on top of Recent Price Drop

Hot on the heels of a price reduction for all Xbox 360 consoles, Microsoft is now giving holiday buyers even more value by including two great games with every Xbox 360 console and Xbox 360 Elite, a retail savings of $90 for consumers. The acclaimed “Forza Motorsport 2” (Microsoft Game Studios) and “Marvel Ultimate Alliance” (Activision) will both be included for the recently reduced prices of $349.99 (U.S.) for Xbox 360 and $449.99 (U.S.) for Xbox 360 Elite. Both bundles will be available retail-wide by the end of October.

Xbox 360 offers the best value this holiday and is the only place you can play all the titles in the greatest holiday line-up of video game in history. This line-up includes “Halo 3” (MGS), which became the fastest-selling video game ever and is making history as one of the biggest entertainment launches of all time.

“Halo 3” (MGS) is just one title in an incredible holiday line-up that are all only available on one game platform, Xbox 360. I really like that Marvel game. I was playing with my son and thats definately the way to play...with someone. Soon as the Halo buzz wears off, we're gonna pick it up again.

MadB - you aren't kidding. The Marvel game is loads of fun with others. Magento, Woundup and I played thru the whole thing. It was a blast! Jon was always trying to steal our gold (instead of fighting) and I was always getting those little bonuses after the rounds (for what I don't know). It was great!

You know what, I hate to say this...but if i was an asshole who got hired by Microsoft as lead sales manager i would bundle both "Forza 2" and "Shadowrun"

Sounds wierd because New console buyers obviously wont have XBLive right away to play Shadowrun, but it might make them lean more toward buying it right away or later on after next paycheck comes around. It would either work as a marketing scheme to make an extra buck or will fail horribly. But i doubt it would fail because they are still 2 free games with a Price drop of 360 and Halo 3 is out plus other fantastic games.

Mircrosoft, call me up i got other better ideas

I think marvel is a perfect fit for a bundle. Anyone can play it, and 4 at the same time is great.

Does anyone know of an exact date when these bundles will be available? A friend of mine has a console (his 3rd replacement from Microsoft) that is showing signs of impending [red ring of] death. He called me a little on the late side last night to tell me his console was starting to lock-up (he got the red ring for several attempted reboots, before it booted up a short while later - 20 minutes, maybe?).

He was talking about going to buy a 360 Elite after work today - and then I read this thread! I tried calling him on his cell phone, to have him wait (seeing his console is still working again - for the moment)... but as fate (typical for him) would have it... he DOESN'T have his cell phone switched on!

He's kind of an impulsive-type person, and he's probably on his way home right now, all excited about the purchase of a 360 Elite... but I've left him several messages (home and voice mail), and I know he's gonna be cursing up a storm when he gets my messages - especially since I know he wants one of those games (low priority, though) and is probably interested in the other one as well.

Well... this is just his kind of luck, and it does make me laugh (not so much "at him")... but he may return the console and wait a couple of weeks for the bundle to be released (his console isn't dead - YET)!

The first thing he's going to ask... is "when" are these bundles going to be available - OR... are the games going to be sent by mail, instead of being in the box with the console?! Maybe anyone who purchases a console within 30 days before the bundle is available can get the games by mail with proof of purchase???

Hey Old School! The press release indicates they will be available retail-wide "by the end of October." We're not quite there yet, but we're close. If he can hang on for a couple of weeks, he'll probably be able to snag one of these bundles. The games will likely come inside the bundle package at the time of purchase. I don't think he'd be able to get the games by showing he purchased early. The retailers will likely want to clear out their stock of non-bundles though so maybe they'll be offering deals on their own.

If he wants the games and can wait a couple of weeks, that's probably gonna be his best bet.

Hey, Peench! He did pick-up a new 360, but he ended up getting another Premium console (he actually won his first console from that "Every 10 Minutes" contest Mountain Dew sponsored 2 years ago - can you believe it?! - but that's another story). Anyway, he got his new console from a Game Stop store - and it was one of the systems that includes the 2 free games with it! Game Stop has been doing such a high volume of console sales, that they have already received the new bundles (I don't know if they have gotten any of the "Elite bundles" yet - they didn't have any of the 360 Elite systems in stock).

The games come on two separate discs (too much data, compared to those original XBOX games combined on a single disc - i.e, Sega GT 2002/Jet Set Radio Future), but it is in a single, dual-disc game box (the original covers for each game are on each side of the box).

I did check the GameStop.com web site, and it is also available there right now. I suppose other online stores may have them available now, too!

This is great info for anyone planning on buying her or his first console, or picking-up a second console. Thanks for posting this info/thread, Peench! I hope this additional info will be of help for everyone else looking to pick-up a new console right now!!!

On a side note... GameStop (in-store... I don't know about on-line) also has used Wi-Fi adapters for about 70 bucks, and used 360 cameras for about 25 bucks! The retail packages for each don't include anything important you'll be missing from the used items - except maybe some basic instructions... and those can be downloaded from the web!

btw, when i picked up my elite yesterday, i saw the premiums had a sticker on it, something about a free game and it had pictures of the 2 listed, it looked like a mail in redemption or something, i should have paid more attention
