Well??? What system got you started.
Let's hear it...what system got you into gaming int he first place? The NES? 2600? A home computer? Let's hear your story.
Personally, it was the NES. I had played console games before on a friend's Atari 800 XL and another friend's 7800 but it was the NES that hooked me for good. I had played the NES from time to time at friends houses shortly after release and I loved every second of it. Games like Super Mario Bros, Contra Castlevania and Mega Man just had the "something" that games on the 2600 or 7800 lacked. They were simply light years beyond anything I had ever seen before. I was immediately hooked.
We received our NES Christmas of 1988 and we played it to death. From that point on I moved to the SNES, the Playstation, Playstation 2 and so on...it's never stopped for me...
Had it not been for the NES I might be some super professional football player with millions of dollars and rock-hard abs instead of a electrician with a flabby belly....THANKS NINTENDO!!!!!

My first console was a Sega Genesis, I got the terminator game and a sonic game. I really don't remember anything much. Just from the home videos.

Atari 2600. I rocked that ish. I even took a Polaroid of the highest score you could get in the game (99999999 something or other), sent it to Activision and they sent me a Pitfall hat. Yep, I'm a dork. Too bad I don't still have it! I'd totally sell that beeotch on Ebay!
I moved onto a Commodore 64 with Zork, Castle Wolfeinstein, etc. and then kinda fell out of touch with gaming. I picked it back up a bit in high school with a Turbographix 64, and then moved onto PC gaming a bit in college. Most of my gaming came during law school though with Warcraft, Warlords, Civilization II, Starcraft, etc. Then after we got married and after our son was born my wife bought me an Xbox. It was all over from that point forward. I was re-hooked for good. I'll bet she's been kicking herself ever since that day!

Pong. Then Pong with the light gun. I also had a 2600, a TI-994a and a PC that I played a text based civil war game on. Monochrome orange monitor ftw! I didn't really get into console gaming until much later, with the original Xbox.

I had an Atari 2600 when I was VERY young. I think this was a few years after it's prime but it was the first system I ever remember playing. I had Asteroids, Pole Position, Pitfall, and some sort of flight sim. I still remember my 6th birthday. My grandpa got me an "Intendo" (I mispronounced the console for some reason or another). It had Super Mario and Duck Hunt and he bought Donkey Kong/Donkey Kong Junior to go along with it.
My mom made me show her that I could beat Super Mario from 1-1 to the end without using warps on one life before she would buy me a new game. It took me months but I finally mastered the game. She took me to Toys R Us and I bought The Legend of Zelda. At that point, I knew I was hooked.
Since then I have owned all the major consoles except a PS3. 2600,Nes,SNES, Sega Master System, Genesis, Sega CD, 32X, Saturn, Playstation, Dream Cast, PS2, Xbox, 360.

NES for me. I started out on a friends Atari playing Qbert, but the NES is what started my 20 year and growing addiction.

Me and my bros got an Atari for Christmas when it first came out. The funny part is we used to break it out while the folks were at work and we're playing it 3 weeks before Christmas. We'd just box it back up and put back in their closet till the next day. When Christmas rolled around and we were playing they were all like "wow you guys are really good at this!" We're thinkin, well yeah we been playing it for weeks
Any rate, that was my first foray into gaming. Over the years, i've had the SNES, Sega Genesis, some other Sega that i dont recall the name of but it didnt last, PS1 and 2, and now the XBOX 360 and Wii for the kids
