Generals, I just found out that my wife want to roll out with me/us. Thus we will be getting our own room at the Sheraton. Her mom gave her a free ticket, and she wants to shop during the day while we PAX.

I just booked the hotel, which was freakin expensive. Now I have to get my flight. Either way, I'll be there.

Last year's Penny Arcade Expo was a great time, early-bird registration has come and gone for this year's, and we're drawing ever-closer to PAX 2008. We now have a ton of information about this year's show, and it's shaping up to be one of the best gaming events of the year.

Ken Levine, President and Creative Director of 2K Boston, will be providing the keynote speech. He was behind something called Bioshock. I'm not sure if that's a big deal. "Obviously, Ken is pimp supreme," said Penny Arcade's Robert Khoo. "We're super excited to have him open up the show."

The prize for this year's Omegathon, where 20 randomly-selected pre-registered PAX-goers compete against in each other in various game-related tasks, has also been announced. The winner will get a trip for two to the Tokyo Game Show, along with $5,000 in spending cash and an "incredible, almost supernatural home theater system."

If you're not excited yet, you're not paying attention. The list of musical acts is fuggin' amazing, as well. Jonathan Coulton will again be there. MC Chris is going to be performing. Freezepop, featuring "the best mid-section in music," will be there. The MiniBosses will be there. MC Frontalot, The OneUps, and The Darkest of the Hillside Thickets will all be taking the stage. Anamanaguchi will also be in attendance.

If you come only for the concerts, I will not blame you. Quite frankly, on August 29, 30, and 31, this is going to be the place to be for gamers in the world. I can't wait to see you there.

Gaming during the day, and partying all night. I really can't wait. Also, be prepared to not sleep very much for these three days, the parties don't start until around 11 p.m. usually.
