The first book in this series was absolutely excellent. The second kinda lost steam I thought, as the author tries to maintain the "psychological trauma" aspect of what Bourne's gone through and it kinda gets sloggy. I haven't read the third book...

Seems like the first movie was relatively close to plot. The second wandered a good bit though... at least I thought. In the beginning of the book Bourne's a college professor, while in the movie he's in Thailand or something. Also, seems like one of the major characters they used in movie 2 was actually dead in Book 2.
You've got me intrigued now. I may read these again and watch the movies...

I remember not caring for the second book though, so maybe I never finished it.
As for the second movie, I nearly vomitted in the theater from motion sickness. The camera work, while I understand what Greengrass was doing, I missed the director of the first one when I was trying to hold down my popcorn. Greengrass is doing this one as well, so I expect I'll have to wait for DVD, because I really felt nauseous during two.

| I am lookin' forward to this one. Although, this one hasn't gotten the publicity that the first two has, it seems. | |

| I am definitely looking forward to this. The first two proved that Matt Damon could be a badass if necessary. | |

Join Date: Sep 2006 Location: Lambertville, NJ Age: 32 | Caught a preview showing of this last night. I only have one complaint, and it's not about the movie as much as it is the director, so I'll take it up with him personally... right here. Dear Mr. Greengrass,
Hello, I'm Sal. I enjoy fast things, and I enjoy watching good people hurt bad people, and sometimes even bad people hurting good people in the right context. I also enjoy car chases, explosions, knife fights, and especially roof-top races. What I don't enjoy Mr. Greengrass, is not being able to watch these things because I'm doubled over in my seat with a headache staring at the ground trying to regain my vision. You see sir, your movie, The Bourne Ultimatum, gave me motion sickness.
Seriously Mr. Greengrass, do you own a Steadicam? Did you have to film this one with the same cameras as The Bourne Supremacy? Everyone should have been handed the same warnings that are on the inside cover of all video game books about seizures and children dying before they watched this, because I swear I thought I saw a bright light last night, and wasn't sure if it was Jeebus coming for me or my brain synapses firing off pink slips at my equilibrium.
I loved your movie, but if it weren't for the fast acting stabilization efforts of Junior Mints and a gallon size Cherry Coke, I may have perished last night. Regardless, you're out of my Will, but I still look forward to more Bourne movies... on DVD.
Sincerely,
Sal | |

I hated the camera work in the 2nd one too...

| Yeah the camera work in number 2 was pretty annoying. So to hear that the 3rd installment is more of the same, then that's no fun. | |

| I threw up during The Illusionist, but that's just because Ed Norton is a disturbing man.
Sucks about the cameras though, I liked the first a lot more than the second because of the cameras alone.
