I for one enjoyed the episode. I felt that it became a bit convoluted in Season 2 for a short time, but never lost its way. I thought A Tale of Two Cities was a good season 3 opener though.
**SPOILERS**
My two-cents:
1) The new Hatch is called "The Hydra." In Greek mythology, which LOST often pulls from, the Hydra had nine heads and one was immortal. Hercules buried the immortal one.
2) Does the kid in the cage mean there are two groups of Others? One has dominated and taken captives of the other. It seems weird that the kid would be a plant when they can just get a file on anyone they want to.
That's all I have for now, I have to go back and watch it online now...

| I love this show all around. I watched it last night! Lookin' forward to the season to come! Kate is hot as ever, shhh don't tell the wife!
There seems to be a lot of experimentation going on and I am curious to know where it all goes!

Yeah, it had my confused as @*#( when it started, cause I thought the blond chick was Desmond's wife.
Anyway, yeah, I am a big Lost fan too...I haven't missed a show since it started and have both seasons on DVD. I think it will be an interesting season...and I'm very glad they are stopping the freakin repeats...those got old really quick.

I thought it was interesting how Henry Gale, or Ben, automatically assumed there would be survivors on the plane when he saw it crashing. I think anyone else would assume that everyone was going to die. I don't know why he thought that, but I think it's cool.

I'll be interested to see the reason behind putting Jack down in that room instead of with Kate and Sawyer.
Also, they must have some sort of link to the outside world if they have all that info on Jack and his family.

| I think they need Jack that it why he is seperated from Kate and Sawyer, Jack has mad skills, Sawyer and Kate are just mad.
Jack is pretty annoying in his stubborness though. I too hae seen every season and to tell you the truth would like to remove a few more regular characters.
So HG is named Ben? I also thought that was Desmond's woman, but now that you mention it, I guess not.....

If the kid was a plant, what was the purpose?
Also, why the hell can't you use the quote function?!

Kate inside.
Sawyer outside.
Jack Underwater.
Why did Kate get put back with Sawyer at the end? What is the significance of that? That seems like a calculated move based on the extravagant breakfast she just had, while handcuffed, and was probably told how terrible the next two weeks will be.
But yeah, that looked like Desmonds wife, but she Juliette clearly had a relationship with Henry Gale at some point because the opening scene suggested that he lived in her house but no longer did.

I like your ideas about control. I'm not sure if having a dude there did anything for their cause. Because if you removed the kid, the outcome, of Sawyer getting the biscuit would have been the same. He just woulnd't have been tasered, which was fun to watch. Maybe it was just a way to for the writers to get Sawyer tasered.
But, the button wasn't just control. It crashed the plane, and provided the earthquake that got everyone outside in the beginning of this episode. Don't forget, they looked up at the sky when they came outside instictively, like they knew what it was. Desmond missed the numbers and Flight 815 came down. The next time the island shakes like that is when the hatch implodes right? That we know of at least? So it did provide a function from what we can tell, as it seemed to also mask the island from radar.
You don't have grammatical errors, with the lack of quotes my feeble brain can't follow what the hell is going on is all. There's even a cute icon for it, don't make Cripplers work mean nothing!
