Both are good, but Pan's is spectacular, and while doesn't necessarilly need a big screen, it is subtitled and the words and action are easier to follow together on a large screen. Plus, you'll leave the theater with a better feeling than you will with Zodiac. All in my opinion of course.

This movie blew me away. I couldn't believe a fairy tale could be so incredibly violent, horrific, and at times, gory.
My favorite thing about the movie was that it never really feel like it was primarily about a fairy tale. I felt like it was more about what this little girl had to go through during the Spanish Civil War with a Psyco new step father who Captained a small brigade somewhere deep in the woods of Spain. The Captain, in my opinion, stole the show. The fairy tale part of the movie was not lacking either, though. Everything tied together and made one of the best stories I've heard in a very long time.
ALL of the acting was terrific, and reading subtitles was anything but a chore (as I had expected it to be). It's not a children's movie by any stretch of the imagination, so I don't suggest watching it with your kids the first time you watch it.
If you've thought about watching this movie, but skipped out on it up until now as I have, wait no longer. Give this movie a rent/buy (I bought, and am very happy with my purchase). You won't regret it!

| I thought this movie was fantastic. The movie really draws you in and you really get the proper emotions necessary for each of the characters. Never have I hated an antagonist more than this movie's antagonist.
That said, I will likely never watch this movie again because of its nature. It was just too brutal. I don't mean in a violence standpoint only, it was more just brutal on my emotions.

Indeed..
I really liked it but it's hard to say that I enjoyed it because it is indeed so brutal and tugging. I'm in the same boat where I don't think I'll watch it again any time soon.
