HBO's Band of Brothers

Finally found it at the price I was looking for. I had borrowed it from a friend when first released on dvd and loved it. If anyone hasn't seen this you are missing some of the past filmaking and writing out there. Powerful stuff, so much so I felt I needed to throw this out there for anyone who might have missed this. Its easy to see where Call of Duty and Brothers in Arms got alot of its material, sometimes shot for shot. Each episode starts with a couple veterans telling memories and sometimes the emotion of it all shows in there eyes and faces. Like it was yesterday for them. Definately not hard to get choked up watching this stuff. Those guys were superheros in every sense of the word.

I've had the DVD box set for a few years now. All I can say is "Awesome". I feel the need to watch it again.

That series was fantastic. The shots were awesome and the action was packed.

Dangit all. I've had the series box set for at least a year or more and haven't had a chance to watch them yet. That's it, I'm breaking em out tonight or tomorrow! TV is slow so my wife and I can watch these while we work out. Thanks for the push in the right direction!

Hahaha, Peench, I know you will love it! I just can't wait until it comes out on either Blu-ray or HD-DVD!!! Whenever that is. It's been announced but still no release date.

This is my favorite HBO series ever. The way the show was shot and the dialogue and scriptwriting was top-notch. This show will make naysayers believe TV can be art.

Peench, just a warning-if you start watching the first epidsode tonight, I'll guarantee you'll ending up watching a few more episodes before the night is through and then you'll be complete watching the whole series by kickoff on Sunday. It's that addicting....

That's what I'm thinking. That happened to us with Firefly too. My wife got addicted and then wanted to watch them all. Turned out we had something DVR'd tonight and didn't get to watch it. Perhaps tomorrow night. I can't wait now!

<----another fan of Band of Brothers. My wife and I borrowed it from my sister back in '04, so we could watch it while I was home from work on Paternity leave after my daughter was born. We would watch 2 per night. We broke in our daughter to loud movies during that time by leaving her on the sofa next to us, sound asleep.

Definitely a great series. I heard they are making another one too. This one taking place in the pacific rim I believe. Not sure when that's coming out though.

Great, great show. I've seen it twice and wouldn't mind watching it a 3rd time. It's funny that MadBryan makes the connection between Band of Brothers and Call of Duty. Just about all the voices in the game were done by cast members from Band of Brothers:

Sgt. Denver "Bull" Randleman, SSgt. William 'Wild Bill' Guarnere, Sgt. George Luz, Sgt. Frank Perconte, Cpl. Joseph Liebgott, Pvt. Joseph Ramirez, and Sgt. Warren 'Skip' Muck. Ok, I think I got them all.

Band of Brothers was absolutely fantastic. I definitely enjoyed it more than Saving Private Ryan.

The wife and I watched the whole series in two days. We just couldn't stop. Highly recommended for those that have never seen it.

I did an IMDB search for that a few moths back and turned up nothing! Where did you get that info from?

Amazing series. I have seen most of the episodes, but got the full set for xmas. It is a wonderful experience to watch these... you really get a strong sense of respect for everyone in the story.

I think I remember hearing about how the voices from COD were from BoB. Very cool.

Sometime during this past holiday season, BB had all HBO dvds for 50%... that would have been a perfect time to pick this up.

I got it from IMDB this morning, but I had seen it awhile back. Hmmm, that's weird.
