Battlestar Galactica: Not Your Grandma's Geekfest
At risk of outting myself as a total and complete nerd, I must ask, is anyone else itching for the new season of BSG?
And if you're not watching it, you should be. Know this, I don't make tv or movie recommendations with careless abandon. I take my job as a BSG fan very, very seriously.

Hey Danger,
I'll Nerd out with you, I can't wait for this season to start. I have watched this series from the beginning and have been very impressed with the whole thing. I was hooked after watching the mini series.
Do you know how many episodes they are going to run? or are they splitting it up into two 1/2 seasons?

Wow, Danger sure did nerd it up.
She's right, as is Bronx, this show rocks. I will go out on a limb and say it's one of the most well written shows on TV right now. And it transcends Sci-fi, it's an awesome drama. I sometimes forget it's set in space.
Season 3 is going to be broken into two seasons again from what Ron Moore has said. The only difference is, this time they are premeiring in the Fall, and will be going up against network shows (in the past they've only started in the summer).
If it's like other seasons, we'll get 11 episodes, then a break, then 11 more.
If anyone hasn't checked this out because it's called Battlestar Galactica, and it's set in space, rethink your decision. It's NOTHING like the former BSG. Rent the mini-series, if you like good TV you will not be disappointed.

Quick twists, indeed. Wonderous and I are rewatching the last season on DVD to catch up for the new shows and it's just as exciting as it was the first time around. I find myself getting completely enthralled and surprised but the plot twists even though I know they're coming

We bought Lost season 2 and BSG 2.5 at the same time and decided we'd watch BSG 2.5 before the premiere, and scrapped watching Lost Season 2 before the new season starts.
I think it was a wise choice.

I feel like responding to LOST requires a new thread...but I will say this: I think a lot of people feel the same way, Dmiller. But, I am not one of those people.
I still found season two of LOST amazing - sure some of the mystique is gone, but they had no choice but to make things a little more concrete. And the addition of the tail-ees (or whatever you want to call them) sort of sucked. But, it still managed to keep its momentum and that is impressive considering how built up the first season was.
In any case, keep watching - the end of the season may perk you up.
Also, you better hurry - BSG will be back in like two weeks!

Danger,
LOST is about the only show we follow and I think that the way they split the season up with repeats last year made many lose interest. I am looking forward to it next week but hope they advance the story instead of relying on the passenger flashback/montage.

I gave up on Lost. I hated the way they bounced from episode to episode, in random order. It ruined it for me. They would go show 1,2,3,2,1,4,6,2,1,4,6,2. Drove me and my wife INSANE

Huge BattleStar fan here. I've rewatching on on of my HD channels. Awesome! We also dig Lost and now Prison Break. My dream is for BattleStar to come out on HD-DVD. I've only bought season 1 causse I'm holding onto that hope.

I need something to fill the void from STargate until it returns in January.
Definitely looking forward to BSG next week! I even changed my Avatar from SG1 to BSG.

I finished Season One, but have yet to buy anything after that.
I've basically been waiting for the two parts of Season 2 to be packaged together, or at least discounted as a total purchase. I just can't justify spending 75 bucks on one season.
This 2.5 crap really makes me angry.
