It's not even because Rodriguez does all of his own special effects in his house, or that he does them all on macs, or that he's a genius. It's the fact that he and Tarantino make films that they love to make, and sometimes, not all times, it really shines through. I feel like this is going to be one of those times, much like Sin City was for me. | |

Join Date: Sep 2006 Location: Lambertville, NJ Age: 32 | The 300 graphic novel was cool, but nowhere near anything storywise that Sin City has. It isn't as fleshed out, and while I'm sure it will be visually stunning in the theaters, I don't think it will be there long. I'll check it out though, it should be purdy.
It also wasn't filmed even remotely close to the same way that Sin City was, althought it looks like Grindhouse may have been. | |

As a matter of fact, Troublemaker studios are some of the only people that can use those techniques right now.
I got the vibe from it too, but mostly because the graphic novel had that feel to it for me. | |
