Iron Man
Great movie. Recommend it to everyone.
I'd compare it to Batman Begins, with much more humor, much less action, and not quite as good of a story.
Be sure and watch THROUGH the credits. Seriously.

I'm going tomorrow to see this one I hope. Is there more stuff after the credits roll?

Crap! I guess that's more reason for me to get the Blu-ray Disc when it comes out.
We saw it Sunday morning and it was an enjoyable movie. Although I had no idea I needed to stay through the credits.

It's a 5 second clip setting up the sequels. Probably not worth going back to see the movie for just that, but since it's an enjoyable enough film anyway, you're probably okay if you do.
I really enjoyed the movie, an 8.5, I'd say. I loved the last line since its such a complete reversal of the typical superhero structure. I liked it even more because I thought it was the screenwriter's way of saying 'What? No sequels. Then take this."
Which explains why I'm kind of saddened with I found out that they're making two sequels. I liked how this one ended and can't really think of a good sequel. Stark becoming Iron Man is what's really interesting which is why more than 2/3 of the movie is dedicated to that and why there is so little action. Stark being Iron Man is significantly less interesting I feel. So I'm not sure how the sequels will turn out.

I totaly agree. The last line pleased me very much, because, as you said, it's a complete reversal of what typical superheros say.
I don't know how the sequel's will turn out, but you can't help but be excited after that clip after the credits. Especially considering WHO was in it. I'll say no more, but definitely watch it!!

For some reason we've got two ironman threads going. I'll have to take a look back at the other and see if they are worth merging.
I've got a single problem with a major plot point. I'll keep it in spoilers in case anyone thinks it would ruin anything in the movie:
Spoilers:
| Stark creates this ultra cool little energy source to power his heart-thing and the suit. But he won't share it with the world? What's up with that? Something like that would totally revolutionize the world... yet he witholds it. Why? |

Spoilers:
| He does want to share it with the world. That's why as soon as he gets back he tells Obadiah to start work on the Ark Reactor and abandon weapons development. But that one in his chest, one that small, is for him and really for Iron Man alone. I gathered he was intending to develop better ones than the big one to give to the world. Of course, Obadiah rightly points out that the thing isn't cost effective in any way shape or form, so *shrug*. |

If you just want to know what it is, we talked about it in spoiler tags here. I don't know if the actual video footage has been posted anywhere yet. I'm sure it will be soon though.
