My son and I are really excited for this one. Trailers look great to us and I'm a big fan of Downeys anyways. He seems to have nailed the Tony Stark character.

Thanks MadB. Well, I decided to take him anyway and for the most part I thought the adult themes weren't too bad for him. BTW, the film rocked. Much better than I though it would be. RD Jr. was casted perfectly IMHO, the CGI was well done and Gwyneth was smoking...

I wasn't sure it was a boy you were talking about. My kids are older and I can't remember how the explosions would affect a 6 yr old.

I just took my 10 yr old to it. It was great, I agree with MadB & Dolfan both. There were a couple of jokes that flew over all the kids' heads, and a couple of curse words. Other than that, pretty tame imho. Oh, and Stark sleeps with a woman early in the movie... there's no question about what's going down but it's done pretty low key.
I agree with Dolfan on Gwyneth (and the reporter too, for that matter). Rawr.
They did a great job making Ironman look pretty kickass. Make sure and stay after the credits for the little scene at the end.

I completely missed that. We took off immediately when the credits started rolling cause my son had a severe case of "I'm gonna pee in my pant's right now if you don't take me to the restroom soon!!!" syndrome during the last 10minutes of the film.
Do you mind posting it in spoiler quotes, Quo? Now you have me curious as to know what it could be. Thanks.

We sat through most of the credits when itwas like the schematics of the suit. Sorry I missed it. I just heard on the radio Iron Man had the second biggest opening weekend for a non sequel movie. That suprises me cause I figured it would take alittle word of mouth to let people know it was good

I don't want to over-hype to, it really wasn't all that big of a deal... I have my doubts as to whether it was worth the wait through the credits But here it is anyway:
Spoilers:
Scene cuts to Tony Stark's living room, where he ambles down the stairs and into the room. When he cuts on the lights there's a man standing there who obviously got in without the security system being aware of it.
He (Samuel L. Jackson) introduces himself as Nick Fury of S.H.I.E.L.D., saying, "So you think you're the only superhero around? ...if I could have a few minutes of your time, I'd like to introduce you to the Avenger program..."
(fade to black)
Samuel L. Jackson... gee, I know you're surprised! |
