You guys seem to have a lot of problems...I guess you dont do what i do, Right before they dim the lights all the way i usually make an announcement;
"If anyone has the need to get loud, answer a call, or comment on the movie every 5 minutes you will have to deal with my BoomGRIP!"
then i lift up my Chrome .45 and that sets the whole tone of the audience...usually no sounds come out not even during the funny parts, People dont laugh. its pretty sweet...But then sometimes people still get loud and they are usually people from Oakland that also carry straps....
Ok seriously...lets get some tips and mix them altogether to make a better experience.
First off try either going really late or really early, Before 1:30 pm so the kids are still in school, earlier than that if you want to miss the Class Cutters. After 9:50 usually around the 10:30 showing cause by then most the kids are at home or teens are getting ready to go out to a club or something cause thats when they start riding out to go party.
Second, go to what i call the Ghetto/Old Theater if you have one, Where the chairs are crappy that if your my size (about 250 pounds) 1 out of every 5 chairs are liable to break on you if your leaning back. Another way to tell if its an old theater is if it doesn't have Stadium Seats, people tend to not go to those no more.
Third, DONT EVER...I mean EVER, go to a New first day release or on the Weekends...Usually movies open on Fridays, so on Friday, Saturday & Sunday go do something else.
Fourth, if your like BREW every time someone gets loud, pull your sleeve up and show your muscles while you flex and lift one Brow up.
And this goes out to Lovekeii, If I lived in Vallejo i wouldn't go to the movies either....as it is i dont like going to the Union City theaters since the Oakland/Hayward dudes roll through to there. But also Gas is really high and i dont want to drive 5 cities over to another Stadium seated theater. So its either that one or the Ghetto old theaters.

as someone who's lived in this area since 1980, I don't think much about the ghetto people who roll in this area. They see me and just uptight white guy, with no money, so they leave me along. It helps I have some size despite my short stature, LOL.
I use to love going to the super old theaters, especially the second run movie theaters. I remember back in 1994, I would drive to richmond to the Hilltop Mall. The theater had $1 admission tickets. Bridge toll was only $1 and gas was approximately $1.50/gal. So the trip would cost me about $5 a date, the cost of one ticket to local theater. I would just go by work for free food to feed the date, LOL.
Me and the hood don't have problems because I don't go there looking for trouble, and I'm there for purpose. Only the little wannabe hood mess with me, but since they want to be hoods, the back down at the littlest provocation. And you may be surprised, most people don't talk in the theaters around here or talk on the phone that I've noticed. It should be noted, I can tune a lot of stuff out; I have two birds there never shut up, so I just learned it from having them.

I was never a hood, even back in the day. Back then, I looked kind of like a preppy hood. I know a lot of gangsta, but I just never really rolled in those circles.
And yes, I've been on shift and robbed at the pizzeria. Only time I looked down the barrel of gun where I didn't antagonized someone to put myself in that position, LOL. Yea, I've looked down a few barrels.

I've been too busy to even think about going to the movies lately but it is pretty sad that nowadays one has to think twice about even considering going to the movies (or any public event) just because of the rude and inconsiderate @$$#0[%$ that attend these events with the intention of ruining it for everyone else (the loud punks, the chattering, the cellphone user, the one person with the laser pointer or that one guy sitting behind you constantly kicking your seat or putting his feet on the seat next to you about 6 inches from your head).
And it's a shame too because of all the technological improvements movie theater companies have made to make the movie watching experience a more engrossing one. Let's face it, going to the cinema USED to be a great time.

That's pretty crappy. I have to say I feel fortunate to be able to have a pretty sweet home theater for my standards. So much more convenient plus the PQ is usually better than the theaters these days. Cheaper to just buy a blu-ray disc as well.
