AMC's Best Picture Showcase
Ok, so this isn't for the faint of heart, but for $30 at an AMC participating, you get all of the Best Picture nominations on one day: - Michael Clayton 11:00 a.m.
- There Will Be Blood 1:20 p.m.
- Atonement 4:20 p.m.
- Juno 7:00 p.m.
- No Country for Old Men 9:00 p.m.
12 hours and 25 minutes of movie for $30. From someone who has sat through the LOTR trilogy, back to back, in a movie theater (2 being extended editions) I can say that it's a long time in a theater, but for a whole day, this may be worth it.
Check it out here.

Pretty sweet. All those movies are must see. Although I think most people will commit suicide somewhere halfway through Atonement after seeing Michael Clayton and There Will Blood. Thank God that Juno is in there or all would be lost.

Yeah, it isn't exactly a "feel good" Oscar year, but with what I hear about Michael Clayton & Atonement, they are all must sees. I don't know that I'll do it since I saw all but two already, but $30 is a nice price for 5 awesome movies.

I'd go if it were a little closer, VA Beach is a steep drive.

I wasn't going to plan on actually going but once I showed the wife, she was really into it (especially since she wants to see TWBB & NCFOM again). So we're now booked for 12 hours on the 23rd. I was reading about last years showing, and the one good thing is there are no advertisements, but they do run trailers between the movies so people can go out and get snacks while they run.
During the LOTR trilogy, they had food carts come into the theater.

Nope. Atonement is a movie made to destroy any belief that anything good can happen in this world.

Trust me bro, Dangerkitty won't let us go to the movies without my special "monkey butter pop corn container." She's all about getting her 9 dollars worth at the theater.

Danger and I did this yesterday, and man, what a blast. Between each movie the AMC people came in and did movie trivia, giving away gift bags and movie posters.
You were in the same theater the whole day, and they didn't care if you brought in outside food, they actually would tell you if you had time to hit up the restaurants around the theater and make it back. Even if you didn't leave your stuff on the seat, no one took it, so you had it when you got back.
The best part though was that the movies started without any ads or trailers. They started right on time. Plus, you could come and go with your cool badge:

Looks like that would have been fun. I'm going to watch Michael Clayton again today.
Here's what your day looked like from my perspective:

I was hoping you'd update your status when you finished, but oh well.
