Blade Runner transfer received top notch scores in PQ and almost as good in audio (HD DVD and Blu-ray are identical). They put a lot of effort in cleaning up everything and compressing it down from a 4k transfer. I'm very excited to pick this up!
HD DVD Review: Blade Runner (Ultimate Collector's Ed.) | High-Def Digest

Stardust reviews haven't faired nearly as well which is kind of a bummer since it is a recent movie.

I was referring to Stardust movie reviews not the technical reviews. When the movie was released I read some nice writeups.

I was very interested in Stardust until I read that review. I usually don't hold much weight to people's actual movie reviews, but they really knock it a little too much for me to avoid.

I haven't had a chance to read others but I'd certainly read more before completely writing it off. Reviews have not been consistant on some HD titles.

I wouldn't mind checking that out. I also really want to see The Kingdom. Supposedly they are both damn good transfers.

Read thru sound and vision this morning and they had an inside look at how WB transfers their movies. Wow. Impressive. They talked about how they transferred Blade Runner. I can't believe I never saw that movie!

Oh... you'll HAVE TO get "Blade Runner" - that movie is a must! I would recommend (at least) the "Collector's Edition" over the lesser releases. Ultimate Edition would be nice, if you ABSOLUTELY had to have all collectables for that movie. I saw them both at Best Buy: CE was about 50 bucks, UE was 100 bucks!

I finally can get rid of my laserdisc version of Blade Runner - the ONLY widescreen "theatrical version" prior to this new release. I hate the director's cut. I understand the "Final Cut" is similar to the director's cut... so I hope the theatrical version was remastered as well as the other versions!

Most of the time, when a director gets an opportunity to fix a previously released movie... you end-up with some "Greedo shoots first" crap (sorry... old wound)!

I'll pick-up Blade Runner after I recover from all the money spent for Christmas!

I'd get it if I could find it. I've only seen the $100 suitcase edition, and thats to much for me. (I think)

Thats a great price. I've been at Best Buy alot cause of xmas and kinda forgot we have cheaper sources. Do the discs come with normal cases so I could throw away the case and put'em with the rest of my discs?
