Will Smith is one of my favorite actors, and he does a wonderful job here. You really get the feeling that you're there the whole way through. Every one of the scenes with his dog, Sam, bring a ton of emotion to the movie as well.
If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it.
If you have seen it, write what you thought about it here!
Don't forget spoiler tags if needed, though!

I've been amped to see this ever since I first heard about it, there aren't enough post-apocalyptic movies these days. Also, this gives me another excuse to sing the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air theme song in the theater.

I am going to see it tonight, I have been waiting for a while and was going to go yesterday but instead, because of the foot of snow we received, I stayed inside and read a book. I'll let you know what I think after I've seen it, I am sure I will like it.

I compare this movie to a mix of Blade 2, 28 Days Later, and best of all: Castaway.
I think Will Smith did a job on par with Tom Hanks in Castaway drawing on his own emotions and really feeling like you're completely alone in the world, and that you'd do anything to get some attention.
I'm still, to this morning, haunted by images and scenes from this movie. It really left a lasting impact on me, and I can't wait to go back to the theater and watch it again.

| just seen this yesterday, good story, but it started reminding me of Land of the Dead, where the zombies got smarter and started using weapons.
it should have been Rated R and more violence pluse cursing. It may not seem important to curse when you think your the last person left on the earth, but i think that justifies it more. Spoilers: | The damned mutant set up a trap (thats what i came to realize) because for a second i thought he was tweaking out at the maniquin he set as bait and fell in his own trap. One more thing is how the lady rescued him so fast while his car (with the tremendous amount of UV light he already had on his SUV got owned) really had long enough to hop out and help him get in her car. |
Q. But its a movie, i may have to read this book, anyone know what the name of the author and book is that this movie is based on?

| so your saying this was a remake of a movie and not based on a novel?
whoops answered me questions
Book written in 1954 called "I am Legend" They made 3 film adaptations, The Last Man on Earth in 1964, as The Omega Man in 1971, and again in 2007 as I Am Legend, (soon to be another "The Last man left on Earth Standing, but not for Long" will be finished and released in winter of 2024, This time the setting will take place in the original location used in the book...Los Angeles)
Look here is the link to Wiki I Am Legend - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

| | Banned | No, It was definately at least a short story. the name and author escapes me at the moment. It has been made into several movies and The Omega Man is the second version I think. ps. I just wiki'ed it and it says The Omega Man is a 1971 science fiction thriller starring Charlton Heston. The movie is based on Richard Matheson's 1954 novel, I Am Legend. The story was first filmed in 1964, under the title The Last Man on Earth, with Vincent Price in the lead role. A third adaptation of the story, I Am Legend, starring Will Smith, was released on December 14, 2007.

| nice i guess we both wikied at the same time...Lol a little more investigation led me to this
The Last Man on Earth (1924 film), a silent comedy film loosely based on the 1826 novel The Last Man
The Last Man on Earth (1964 film), a science fiction film based on the 1954 novel I Am Legend
WOW...there was a book written in 1826 about a plague that swept the earth, and a silent comedy film...(Must be ragtime) in 1924. This books story has been used and abused like a red light district vet.
