So I bought The Omega Man today (the Charleton Heston flick based on I Am Legend). I only watched the first 20 minutes or so and I can't wait to finish it, but it is WAY different. The creatures are more humanlike with white powder all over their faces (technology has come a long way), and they all seem to talk and think like regular humans. It's cool so far... but to me, pretty much anything with Charleton Heston in it is pretty awesome.

for the "I am LEgend" movie they were orginally going to use people made up for the vampires/zombies but decided at some point that it wouldn't work like they wanted and decided to use CGI instead.

I saw this with a big group of people of various ages. Almost nobody loved it. A lot of them didn't like it at all. I would say that it was maybe a 6 or 7/10. It did a great job of creating the idea that he was the only person in the world.

I know this is minor, but I really felt like the scenes of him driving around at first were totally CGI. Maybe I play too many videogames

I can't point to why it wasn't great, and maybe that's my problem. It was good, but nothing groundbreaking. It was well worth the price of admission, but I don't know that I'd buy it.

I think if there wasn't so much CGI it would be a lot more believable. It didnt really seem like the Zombpires ever did anything that couldnt be recreated with people and minimal CGI, they just seemed out of place in the real world art style.

I read the Wiki review you posted. That does sound awesome, I'd like to read the book someday.


Anyway, I ended up finishing The Omega Man the other day. It was good, but very different. The cool thing was that it had a free ticket to see I Am Legend in it, so while visiting my inlaws, my wife's stepdad and I went and watched I Am Legend again. I've seen it 3 times now!! I think I've had my fill until it's release on DVD.

i finally saw the movie and i absolutely loved it! cant wait till i can catch it again, i wish they wouldnt have gone so crazy with the infected tho, super-human is pretty hard to believe
