I'm sure it will be great, just keep in mind it isn't meant to be a crystal clear picture as that wasn't the style it was filmed in. I can only imagine the audio will be fantastic based on how it was in the theater.

I'm not one of those that expects every HD movie to look like Crank (which honestly looks like ass, not film). I watched Saw II last night and it was gritty and grainy and I loved the look of it. I don't care so much for movies like 300, but that's a personal choice and I know that it was intended to look like that.
There's tons of threads over at AVS regarding HD picture quality. Many people expect it to look like HD football stuff and are dissappointed when it doesn't. I don't think they get the fact that the HD movies are closer to the source than DVD. The reason they pick up on the grain now is that HDM has the resolution capability to display/encode grain effectively.
I really think that both camps dropped the ball in regards to promoting HD media. It should be "Closer to what the director intended" instead of "It's so clear it's like looking through a window."
I still enjoy those threads entitled: "I have a widescreen TV, why do I get black bars!?!?!?!?!"

| I bet the "shaky cam" will make you vomit in HD. | |

Haven't seen it on HD DVD though.

| The HD-DVD looks great. Shaky cam and all!
I think in terms of action, it was my favorite of the three. It had me invigorated the whole time both when I saw it in theaters and at home.

I haven't seen The Bourne Supremacy, so hopefully I'm not too lost. In fact, I haven't seen The Bourne Identity since it was in theaters when it first came out.

| I think this is one of the better trilogies. Not that there are a whole lot to choose from, but this holds more entertainment value than the Pirates trilogy. | |

Join Date: Sep 2006 Location: Hill Valley, 2015 Age: 25 | Well, I just got done watching it. Not having seen the second kind of had me struggling to understand it at first, but I caught on. I can honestly say you can see this one without ever seeing the other ones and get what's going on by about halfway through.
I did rather enjoy it, though this was honestly probably the first time I've gotten a bit nauseas watching a movie before. Some of the camera work made me want to throw a steadi-cam or something at these guys. Jeez, you don't need THAT much tension, do you?
Jon, it's funny you mentioned Pirates. I started watching At World's End before I decided to watch Bourne. I got about an hour and a half into AWE when I decided to switch. Out of all three, At World's End has to be one of the most boring of them. I was finding it hard to tell where the story was going as there are so many deals being made by everyone. Not to mention I had a terribly hard time understanding anything that Chow Yun Fat said. His dialogue must have been mixed much lower from everyone else's.
At just about three hours, I wasn't in the mood to finish At World's End tonight. I'll finish it up tomorrow afternoon and see how I like it. Hopefully, it will get better.

| Yeah, AWE was indeed the most boring of the three. My wife who loves the pirates movies said the same thing. There was too much dialog, not enough action, and too many twists and turns that by the end of the movie, we were just utterly perplexed.
As or the 3rd Bourne movie, It is certainly a lot better in terms of a trilogy closer than At World's End was.
