I never said you couldn't rank up quick. I said I don't have time to complete tests to get guns to compete with other players.

Ranking up quick is ass in and of itself, and goes to show how cheap and skilless it really is. I don't have a problem with that, because I ranked up ridiculously fast, like everyone else. If you're not going to have an accurate skill system, fore go it completely and stop the charade, make everything a social battle.

what tests are you needing to complete to unlock guns? all the guns on my list are unlocked by attaining a certain level, the challenges are to unlock scopes and camo, granted, most guns are hard to kill with until you unlock a scope for it (for me at least) but my preferred scope is the red dot, which is the first unlocked for every gun i believe, and is fairly easy to achieve

I say the same thing about Halo 3 and it's shitty ranking system.

I just think everyone has different tastes when it comes to multiplayer gaming, which is the way it will always be. Wonder's complaints about ranking up too easily, no weapons on the map, etc. were actually selling points for me. I much prefer this to Halo's race to get weapons, which to me is never fun. I feel I have a better chance to hold my own in Call of Duty 4 than I ever had in any Halo game.

But honestly, this is probably the last shooter I'll buy for a while. While Frontlines looks cool, it is just another shooter to me. Worth a rent, but most definitely not a purchase for me.

True, indeed. The problem with Halo is that it takes quite a bit of practice to become any good at the multiplayer (for people like me, that is), where as Call of Duty seems like the learning curve is a lot less steep. Personally, I like to just jump into a multiplayer game and play, and I feel like Call of Duty lets me do that. With Halo, I constantly struggle to get kills, even though I seem to get them easily to some people. I get a headache just thinking about it.

Those of you who say the mm is getting boring try a different gametype maybe.

It really Isn't hard to level up when playing headquarters. I think for the war I may just go into prestige mode, if I am there by then, so then I will be on a little bit more level playing field, but I do not know if I will be able to part with the 50 cal when I get it.

I have to agree with Wonder in regards to being outranked early on. When everyone has laser dot scopes, and you do not, that is a huge disadvantage. It took me a couple of weeks of casual play to get that scope. Before that I was stripping the dead bodies.

But also as mentioned, there is a game mode where everyone starts off equal. We just need to use that mode sometime to level the playing field.

I really do not like the game mode where you have to pick the weapons up I would rather not play in the tournament if this is the only game type we played. It really isnt that hard to get 25 kills with an M16 or MP5 to get the redot scope then add on the stopping power perk and be just as deadly as anyone else.

never thought id say this, but i agree 100% with milky, picking up weapons isnt what this game is about, i really think the best bet is just to set it up so anybody can use anything, if i wanted to run around crazy then i wouldnt have gotten rid of halo...

I agree also. I am not speaking about the War event, just in general. The game developers give us tons of features and games modes, and we normally only play the default modes. I think it would be fun to try some of the other options. I dont like running for the weapons either. I think they have default kits that are all the same. Something like that.
