COD4 Check In

You know I love a good Check-In thread. Post it up here when you have the game.

As always, there are fools saying that some stores are getting the game in tonight (11/5). I may call around and see what the stores say.

I just got a call. I preordered it today, and it's in at the Gamestop around the corner from my prison work. They close at 7 though, so if I can get out at a reasonable time, I'll grab it.

Gamecrazy says they have it in stock, so I'm going to pick it up tonight as well. Skipping pointless night class may be in order...

i'll probably pick it up tomorrow. I got COD 3 when i got my Xbox, but i never played it. Saw the commercials for COD 4 and it looks pretty sweet!

This is why Gamecrazy is much cooler. If I didn't have all my gift cards for EB, I would be on my way to Gamecrazy. Oh well, one more day isn't gonna kill me. I have painting to do anyway.

COD3 sucked. So far COD4 looks like it is gonna be awesome.

I'll have mine tomorrow. Dealing with midnight dicks at GS isn't worth it, so I ordered online. I wish we had a Gamecrazy around here.

Yeah, I called a couple places around here too and everyone said "Tomorrow"!!

BTW, I did stop at GS today and my conversation with the CSR went like this:

GS CSR: "Did you pre-order?"
Me: "Yep. Sure did."
GS CSR: That's good because we getting barely enough copies to fill the pre-orders. You'll be SOL if you didn't have your copy preordered.

Then some customer at the store was like, "So, it's too late to preorder now, huh?"

The GS CSR responded: "Nah, I think we have just one more copy available after the pre-orders. If you P-O now, you'll have your copy guaranteed.

I was like, "WTF?, didn't you just say there may not be enough copies for the pre-orders?"

If I would have walked in 5 minutes after this customer would have pre-ordered the last copy, I bet the GS CSR would hve told me the same "We only have one copy left after all the current preorders".

Besides, there's other places to find the game as well such as Target BB, CC, Wally World, etc. It's not like they're the only ones that will be selling the game.

Oh, well. 1 more day won't hurt....

True, one more day is no biggie. Still, I find myself pretty irritated with the antics of some stores. What's with the varying release dates? I mean, did the game release on the 5th, as the online information indicates (as well as the fact that some stores here locally are selling it today if you pre-ordered...), or is it the 6th, as other stores would have you believe?

I'm done with Best Buy pre-orders. They totally flubbed the Halo launch night, now it seems they're playing cat and mouse just so the ship date for online orders will be closer to the store date. Meanwhile the local Gamestops aren't goofing around. They had all their preorder copies available for pickup today.

Apparently, my wifey preordered it for me without me even knowing about it 'til today... so I should have it as soon as I get home from work, unwrapped and in my 360, just waiting for me to turn on the console!

Now that's a wife!
