Infinity Ward is Back for COD 4

I was so dissapointed in COD 3 I was glad to read this, also finally moving on from WWll.

Interesting. Modern warfare has been done, too, so they'll have just as much if not more competition in this format. I wonder which direction they're heading with this... more like COD2 or BF2:MC.

I guess we'll see on draft day. Here's to hoping it's something new and different!

COD3 Veteran difficulty has ruined my enjoyment of this franchise right now. I will finish the game solo, but it is painful to play. I will admit I am not the most skilled player around, not by a long shot, but it have heard others that feel the same way.

CoD is like Splinter Cell for me. I enjoy every other one because of the developer switch. Just as Ubi Shanghai can't hold a candle to Ubi Montreal, Treyach can't carry Infinity Ward's lunch.

I think this is definitely good news. Not to derail this thread too much, but does anyone know why the Vietnam era hasn't been used more often?

I would imagine it is because it wouldn't have international sales. It was a US event not a world war.

I think because the WWII genre is a lot easier to make Americans look heroic in. I don't think shooting Vietnamese children that have bombs strapped to them is a good gameplay element.

Battlefield:Vietnam was good, though multiplayer only.

It would definitely be interesting. I just doubt too many companies would mess with it for the reason DMill said, among others.

i've been waiting patiently for the switch off to IW, tho i think my fiance will be butthurt when i begin to own his ass again like i did in cod2.
that was my JAAMMMMM.then cod3 came along.it took me forever to get used to.

CoD3 was an immensely rubbish game. Call of Duty 2 was great. Hopefully CoD4 is as good as CoD2.

I haven't played any of the SP for COD3, but for whatever reason I did like COD2 much better. Not sure why, but we did have fun TK'ing each other in the COD3 war!

I think CoD2 will get a slot in the FNFF poll next week. CoD3 isn't exactly raking in the votes.
