| [keezy]I'm gonna start CoD3 on vet over the course of the next week. I did missions 1 and 2 on vet already, they seemed a great deal easier ten CoD2 veteran[/keezy] | |

| I haven't played COD 3 SP to much but I did finish COD 2 on Vet. All I can tell you from my experience with COD 2 vet is just keep at it. There are always some parts of a mission that seem impossible but you just have to be persistent. In COD 2 there were some missions that took me probably 50 times of repeated play to actually get through. It can get annoying you just have to keep at it and hope for the best. Sorry that is all I can offer, I know it ain't much. | |

Make sure and don't blindly repeat the same tactic again and again. Lots of times there's another path to take, or a tabletop full of smoke grenades in just the right place to help you out, etc...
I tend to overlook stuff like that sometimes. Give it all a second look.

| | PGL Community Vendor | Wow, what timing. I just finished the furnace level on Veteran yesterday. But believe me, it took forever to finish. I got the feeling it was one of those infinate german-spawning areas so I think you need to press through them. My first eighty tries (yes, eighty) I tried to stick back and pick them off with my rifle but I think I must have killed about 70 germans and still never moved forward.
What I ended up doing was just pressing through them. First, I would run into the furnace room and get behind the first circular furnace near the center of the room. Then I would crawl to the right to a baricade, stand up and shoot the german on the other side. Then I would lean out to the right and get the guy behind the furnace cart. Then I would pop up behind the same baricade and shoot 1-2 germans between this furnace and the second. As soon as they are down, I would race to the second furnace, which puts me near the stairs. From here you need to be aware of germans on the catwalks above you. Hard to see, but you can still shoot each other. Get 2-3 more germans between the second furnace and the stairs, then immediately move up the first set of stairs. Find cover, and scan the immediate area. When things look clear, move to the right on the catwalks, and then forward to a short set of stairs (maybe 4 steps). On this short set of stairs should be 3-4 germans, take them out and move up those stairs and hang a left. You should get a checkpoint here.
I hope this helps, I was cursing and swearing at the game. Four advil and two hours later, I was done. Just keep pressing forward the second things clear. The time I got through it I probably only had to kill a dozen or so Germans (or it seems like). Either way, a lot less then when I was trying to pick them off.

I remember what a pain this level was, and on veteran it must be a nightmare.
Shadow, if this doesn't work, you can always rock it old school with a little up up down down left right left right A B B A select start (or whatever the carp it was; it used to work in Ikari Warriors, recognize!).

finally cracked it just now, after trying sam's method and a couple of others that i found on other sites i wasn't really getting anywhere, so i ended up making up my own strategy...and incredibly it worked FIRST TIME !
Chapter 7 was cool driving around in the tank, did that no problem so now i'm up to chapter 8 which i hear is the hardest level in the game.........
