Long story short. I never finished the SP on campaign "hardened" for the 360 version but completed it on the PC version.
Since I am waiting for COD3, I decided to go back and get the 'points' for COD2. It should be gravy right? Well...
So I go to the "Select Mission" screen and chose a mission, changed the difficulty to 'Veteran' and play for a bit. I then save the progress to play later on in the day. I come back and load it. Play through it until I get the "Victory!" screen. I had hope to see an achievement unlocked but thats a big fat NO!
I figured that the game saves changes the difficulty back to the original where I had first played it. So it looks I have to sit there and play through the level. !@#!#$%#%^!
I am so hot right now. This is TWICE that this happened.

| That sucks Frodo. I never experienced that problem before. I play it on hardened until I complete the whole mission, never used the checkpoint save stuff. | |

Now that remembered my skill level since I got an achievement. I guess I will finish the game and then go back to the ones that were not on veteran. Just very strange that when I redid the "winter war" on veteran, it remembered my skill level.
Thanks for the good luck.

at least ranked and player matches are working properly now

Wow, I feel for you. Most of us here know how frusrating it is to play the same level over and over, again and again just to get so close to completing it and then getting shot near the next checkpoint.

just made me think, if the chapters so far have been difficult what the hell are chapters 6-14 gonna be like...... i'll have to put a swear jar or something in my room to try and stop me from screaming insults at the TV....brings back memories of ultimate MK3 and trying to beat that final boss... damn i hate him

| I'm gonna go through and beat CoD2 on veteran after I get every achievement for Saint's Row and Dead Rising. I have like half of the missions done. | |
