| Being a PC gamer at heart, framerate is key. None of this "I need my 200 FPS" to win. No, the difference between 30fps and 60fps is huge. It makes it a lot easier to predict a shot, make movements, etc.
So in actuality, it is the playability that is being affected. I'd take slightly lower resolution with a faster framerate over a high resolution, slow framerate game. That's the thing I don't understand, the resolution of 720p is basically 1280x720 if you were to play on a computer monitor. That's not a fantastic resolution. So why can't they run it at a stead 60 frames? 1920x1080 is a different story.
I have a real big frustration for games not running at 60fps. And especially with the power of the 360, I am surprised more games are not. It was real disappointing when I realized that Rainbow6 wasn't 60fps. The Unreal Engine has always been incredibly efficient and very workable at said framerates. |
