When they say chopper & mauler though, it sounds like they mean chopper and mauler. Ghost & Phantom are the human words we gave to the covenant technology right? Why slang-term something we're already using a slang-term for?

It looks like they used itals for the names of things: Phantom, Brute, Grunts, Drones, Mauler & Chopper.
