| I think the common belief is that you are less likely to being hacked if the hackers have to look harder to find your network. There are those that can hack WEP quite easily (search google). But if they have to find your network name first, that is another step between the hackers and you.
Just make sure you change the name from the default. If I was a hacker, even with the SSID off, searching for networks called Belkin, Linksys, Dlink would be the first step in finding your "hidden" network. |
