| You could look into getting a $300 Onkyo to hold you over a year until the HDMI switching receivers come down in price. They have at least three component inputs, and a bunch of digital audio inputs. I was able to find my Onkyo on floor model for $225! A modern receiver, even one at this price may surprise you in how much better your speakers/games/movies CAN sound.
I had a Kenwood similar to your Yamaha, and I was BLOWN away by the sound difference. I was pissed I waited SO long to upgrade. Plus when I do get a better main room receiver, I am moving this Onkyo to my bedroom setup. Plus your missing out on Pro-Logic II, which I think sounds great when needed. (The Wii is Pro-Logic II) |
