That is actually a tough call. My vote go's for GOW, just because of it's great multiplayer aspect. Not to mention it has a wicked soundtrack.
Yeah what Aether said, lol.

I voted for Gears of War. But, Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion was a VERY close second.
Gears wins in my book because of graphics, innovative gameplay, fantastic implementation of co-op and a multiplayer aspect which was, in fact, an after thought! The multiplayer is flawed in some ways but, regardless, I find myself still playing for hours on end just because it's a blast! (Of course there will be opposing opinions, but that's just my thoughts)

Well I had to vote for Oblivion because that was the whole reason I bought my 360 and I was not disappointed. From the music to the gameplay to the graphics I though Elder Scrolls 4 was top notch. Gears would def be a close second though.

Oblivion is the most rich and deeply immersive experience I have EVER had in a video game. Still playing it after months of side quests & they keep adding new content!

oblivion had me cracked out for evar! it was wonderful to sit at work and plot out my options again, something that my work hates but i love! been too long for that type of addiction. Since i havnt played r6:v and really wasnt impressed by the demo i couldnt consider that one. GoW is good, but its so retardedly short that i cant vote for it. Great example of an easy to get into game and very well put together but the story was pathetic and i was disappointed by its very brevity. So CoD2 would be my second as it was teh second game i got 1000pts on and some of its area's left my heart just thumping, unlike GoW.

Games had to have been nominated to be on the list.

Zoom is correct. games had to garner enough nominations to be on the final list. Resistance:Fall of Man was nominated as a shooter and is on the Shooter list I believe, and Wii Sports made the cut on the Sports Game of the Year.
