| I don't agree that passive and interactive entertainment have the same effect on the audience. When you are immersed in a story, controlling the action and making decisions, there is something else going on. The main problem is that our society, and parents in general don't know how to prepare their children for the information & experience overload that today's world offers. If kids are grounded in reality, with a sense of responsibility and propriety there is less of a chance that they will act out in these unreasonable ways. When they are taught to constructively use their minds to filter out what is harmful and embrace the creativity in these games, they will be more successful human beings. The fault is ours, not the makers of content. |
