| I was never really interested in Too Human from the start, until a few of the more recent videos of the gameplay. I think nostalgia played a factor in what interest I had/have so when I saw the demo was available I figured it would be the perfect opportunity to add another title to the list of games I don't have time to play, or keep from adding yet one more to that list.
First off, I wasn't very impressed by the visuals. The number of characters on-screen at the same time is impressive, but otherwise, I find the visuals to be a little on the blah side of things. Kameo presented hundreds of enemies on the screen at once as a launch title back in November '05, I need more than lots of enemies to be drawn in to the game.
The combat was ok, if not a little clumsy using the right stick. While it was easy enough to move from enemy to enemy, it never felt very smooth. It felt like button-mashing with the right-stick.
The game definitely gives you an overwhelming sense of power as I was never really concerned with dying. The weaponry, and modifications to the weaponry, as well as the spider/battle cry I was able to use were pretty cool. I think I'll play through the demo again, but right now consider this no more than a rental. I never really cared much for the story as I just wanted to test the gameplay, so I skipped the majority of the cutscenes.
And like most everyone else that's commented on the Too Human demo, I was pretty annoyed by the camera. |
