Well I picked it up and I don't really know the story. For example I had no idea the guy from MGS3 is not the same as MGS4. Honestly I don't really care if I don't follow the story fully (yeah I've skipped some cutscenes as I was eager to get back playing. I'm going to play through again for sure and pay more attention) as the game is a ton of fun.

I'm a little bit into ACT 2 and it's fair to say this game has takent best console graphics title away from Uncharted from what I've played so far. I've never been a big MGS fan but this game is pretty dam fun and on a technical level very impressive. And yes the audio is fantastic!
I really enjoy that I can approach a mission by stealth or all out attack or somewhere in between. Aside from the somewhat repetive dialog the A.I. does a great job of feeling realistic.
I'm still not 100% comfortable with the controls but I'm managing to do well enough. I find myself trying to climb over or jump over obstacles that aren't meant to be passed still. Usually I have to go up close and see what the context sensitive inicator for the triangle button says. Snake also moves a bit slower than I'd like but that probably comes from being more a stealth game.
This game has raised the bar without a doubt on many levels.
