| You'd think so but its never been the case with a sony console. If anything, the ps3 seems to be suffering from "I want it for its hardware" much more than the ps2 did.
The ps2 had 20(22?) some games at launch and its attach rate was still under 1. A lot of people admittedly bought it as a cheapo dvd player though.
Now here comes the ps3 at 500 and 600 bones? 1 game will be what the average person can afford(notice I said average).
The hardcore will be buying at launch so 2 or 3 games is feasible, but I doubt it'll be any different than it has since the 1995 and 1999 launches(and those were much much cheaper consoles remember). |
