that's no story Goeff. I've got the beat by a mile. When I was college, I started getting CC'd. For some reason, it's easy to get credit cards that are NOT secured or co-signed. Don't ask me how, but I managed to get about $15K in credit lines when I was only making $4K/yr, LOL. I used the CC to pay college at the community college. I transfer to UCSD, buy a new computer, and so forth. Unfortunately, I didn't get a job as quickly as I was expecting after graducating from UCSD. I owed somewhere to close to $20K and had no job. One card was about 5 months behind.
Luckily for me, my parents were nice and let me transfer the money owed to one of their cards since I was paying more in fees than towards the cards. Awfully trusting of them. After two years and taking half my income each month to pay towards the cards, I paid them all off. That's with adding about $2K for various items, including my first set hometheater speakers.
I've ran up the cards again, but I know I can pay them off in about six months with a normal paying job. Just need to get that job.
