I don't want to over-hype to, it really wasn't all that big of a deal... I have my doubts as to whether it was worth the wait through the credits
But here it is anyway:

Scene cuts to Tony Stark's living room, where he ambles down the stairs and into the room. When he cuts on the lights there's a man standing there who obviously got in without the security system being aware of it.
He (Samuel L. Jackson) introduces himself as Nick Fury of S.H.I.E.L.D., saying, "So you think you're the only superhero around? ...if I could have a few minutes of your time, I'd like to introduce you to the Avenger program..."
(fade to black)
