What was the problem with the sub calibration? I never had a problem with it. Using Avia/DVE/receiver setup the sub mic'd within a db of each other. The problem a lot of people ran into with DVE was the sub frequency was a very narrow frequency, around 65 hz if I remember right, and interfered with room nodes worse than Avia. If you didn't have a properly eq'd sub you would get an incorrect reading compared to Avia which used a much wider frequency tone.
