| I got a 05 king cab silverado z71{got a camper to pull so I have too}
and get 17 mpg local driving so you may as well get a full size compaired to the dakota. For what ever reason dodge always got a lil worse gas milage than chevy's or fords. I'd say either go with a smaller truck than the dakota or go ahead and go with a full size. If you can do without 4 wheel drive you can find some ok priced used ones if you want a 4 wheel drive with less than 70,000 miles I think you might as well buy new because 4 wheel drives hold there value too much.
ps. We got a 5.60 interest rate on my wifes explorer and that was 2 years ago the feds have lower'd rates even more. Thats something people forget to nagotiate when buying a new car and 1 percent makes a difference over the life of a 4 or 5 year loan. the dealership said something like 8 percent was the best we could do so we went to a credit union {which was one of the places the dealership said they checked with} and got 5.60
