| Yeah...the manual is one of the biggest complaints this year. It explains about 10% of the nuances of the game.
Hold the left trigger and lock on, keep your finger on the trigger and stay with your man. Watch the animation, you can tell if the ballhandler is about to spin off of your defender when you're locked on...at that point as the defender I'd let go of the trigger, reposition, then re-lock. Let it go when someone comes to set the screen, repostion, then re-lock. When they shoot a jumpshot, you really don't even have to jump if you're locked on (have to have decent defensive awareness rating & on ball defense rating too)....your player will run at the shooter with a hand up. Unless they're a crappy defender. Bonzi Wells is an excellent man defender, as is Chandler in the post.
Don't really know about the defense thing...I mainly play man to man (unless the offense is jacking 3's, in which case I run 3-2), and it seems as if the default is man to man. So I don't have too many issues with that. |
