SSX... Release 2/28/2012

Hey Feedman,

So what I was saying about SSX... it's got this feature called RiderNet that allows you to race against your buddies whether they are online at the same time or not... here's more:

Yeah, it's not gonna be for everyone. I figure the racing crowd will like it, and those who like one-upping other's records and having them trumped, etc. I'm just ecstatic they are finally bringing back this series, and I'm hoping against all hope there's no serious EA fail.

I just like it because if you replace the 2nd S with an E it would be a funny name for a game.

Since you brought up Burnout Paradise... anyone surprised they haven't funneled more money in developing this brand? I knew a TON of people who really enjoyed this game. For some (myself included), traditional driving games are a little too realistic and/or complex for me. But Burnout was always really fun and easy and provided some very good opportunities to do multiplayer. I even think we used to have a FNFF with Burnout Paradise every now and then. But we haven't seen a new title update for that one in awhile. I think folks would be up for at minimum a new map pack. I know they updated that BIG ISLAND a few years back, but that seems pretty long ago. I think they could make some money with map pack updates every year.

I am VERY surprised that they haven't put more into it. Given the fact that other franchises get by with a few little updates and release annually, I just don't see how they would pass up releasing map pack after map pack, or a whole new city for that matter.

I loved the game. At times it was a little TOO fast and could be frustrating, but it was a great game. They need to do another one.

Watching these videos REALLY makes me want to get this game. I LOVED Cool Borders back on the PS1 and I've been looking for a simple fun game to grab. This may be it.

I loved Cool Boarders too... I might have to pick SSX up.

Amazon's giving a $10 credit (that can be used on anything, I believe, not just video games) for an SSX pre-order. They're doing the same for Mass Effect as well. So I've pre-ordered it with Christmas credits I got, then I'll get ME3 for a net $50, and the next game for a net $50 as well. Or some free guitar strings, or something. Every little bit helps.

I'm pumped to see this game. Great to get a better deal on both it and ME3.

The demo is a lot of fun. Very arcadey, but well executed. I am really looking forward to this game now.
